It's My Funeral!

Our own escalan has been chosen as a contributor to  I,Splotchy's Green Monkey Music Project #21:

The Theme:  What you want played at your Funeral.
It took awhile but I got it down to the required 6 songs.  I put them in the order that I would want them played, the first song during the arrival of the guests, the last one while they are carrying me out.  Hopefully some people will talk inbetween the songs.  If not, that's fine.  Not much to say really, I guess.  Guys dead.  Lets go eat.
Anyway, spoiler alert, here's a widget of my choices (I lost alot of money in widgets, someone could mention that.  Apps my ass.):

Honorable mentions include All the Madmen or Ashes to Ashes from Bowie.  Kinda sad they didn't make the cut, actually.  "I'd rather stay here, with all the Madmen" or "I've never done good things, I've never done bad things, I never did anything out of the blue".  Bowie got screwed here, I guess.  Zappa should have made it too, something off Apostrophe.  These guys were early favorites in my life, but they don't get much play time anymore.  I let Talking Heads and Fred Frith represent that era of my life.  Springsteen should have got a nod too, and Better Days was considered.  Diana Krall was my nod to the classic standards that I enjoy from time to time.  Fiona Apple's Extraordinary Machine
did alot of time in my car's CD player, as did The Little Willies.  I love that line in their cover of Kristofferson's Best of all Possible Worlds:  "I knew there was something I liked about this town, but it will take more than that to keep me down".  I often quote that when somebody throws bullshit my way.  Sara Watkins is a new find for me.  Her Bygones is quite fitting also.  I see it as a great background song while we watch Chamberlain pulls bodys on himself to keep warm at Fredericksburg.

mundane Refocusing, Getting SMART!

As part of our new Rebuilding and Restructuring Agenda's the mundane bored of director's has decided to adopt SMART goals:
  • S stands for straight, maybe, i mean not sexually..wait a minute
  • S stands for Struggle...all posts must be a pain in the ass.
  • M stands for Meaningless.  That was easy.  All post must leave the poster with a feeling of emptiness and regret.
  • A stands for Arrested Development.  Not the TV show or the band (if there was one), but for the state of mind.  Look for lot's of Dr. Bellow's and Talking Heads references.
  • R stands for Racist.........................scratch that.
  • R stands for......
  • R stands for.........
  • Ah, Fuck It, R stands for Racist....no wait.
  • R stands for Recruitment.  Let's try to trick some other fools to write this crap.
  • T stands for Tamarisk Restaurant.
The bored has also decided not to end any posts with clever lines.  And less pictures.
